Head Tracking fo Desktop Virtual Reality Display using the Wii Remote circa 2007
Johnny Chung Lee from Human-Computer Interaction Institute at Carnegie Mellon University recorded this in December of 2007, thirteen years ago and thirteen years ahead of the game.
He used the infrared camera in the Wii remote and a head mounted sensor bar (two IR LEDs) to accurately track the location of you head and render view dependent images on the screen.
This effectively transformed a display (however old school) into a #portal to a virtual environment.
The display properly reacts to head and body movements as if it were a real window creating a realistic illusion of depth and space.
